T1 Crowned LoL Worlds 2025 Champions After Epic Telecom War Finale
In a packed Dong’an Lake Sports Park in Chengdu, China, T1 have once again ascended to the top of League of Legends history. Led by the legendary Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, the Korean powerhouse defeated KT Rolster 3–2 in what many fans are already calling the greatest Telecom War ever.

This victory marks T1’s sixth Worlds title and makes them the first team in history to achieve a three-peat, having also triumphed in 2023 and 2024. The 2025 grand final will be remembered not just for its intense back-and-forth gameplay but for the story it tells: one of dominance, resilience, and destiny fulfilled.
Faker and T1 Complete the Unfinished Story
Back in 2017, T1 (then SK Telecom T1) came painfully close to securing a third consecutive title before falling 0–3 to Samsung Galaxy. Eight years later, Faker and his squad finally complete that long-awaited chapter.
Alongside Faker, the core of Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok continue to define a golden era of Korean League of Legends. Each now joins Faker as a three-time world champion, a feat previously unthinkable in LoL esports.
A particularly emotional highlight came for Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon, who silenced critics after replacing Choi “Zeus” Woo-je in 2024. Once doubted, Doran’s performance throughout the tournament, and especially in the final, was nothing short of career-defining.
Adding another layer of poetic symmetry, Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun, T1’s head coach and one of LoL’s greatest masterminds, lifted yet another Worlds trophy, this time defeating Go “Score” Dong-bin, his old teammate from the early days at StarTale back in 2011.
An Instant Classic: The Greatest Telecom War Ever
Both finalists entered the match in top form. KT Rolster had dropped only a single game throughout the tournament against Gen.G in the semifinals, while T1 stormed through the playoffs after a rocky Swiss Stage, edging out Anyone’s Legend (3–2) and sweeping Top Esports (3–0).
The final, however, was a rollercoaster. KT set the tempo early, dominating the laning phases and forcing T1 into reactive plays. But as the games wore on, T1’s legendary teamfighting and clutch shot-calling began to take control.
- Game 1: KT opened strong, but T1’s coordination turned the tide after 18 minutes, securing the first map.
- Game 2: KT struck back with Deokdam’s Ezreal and Bdd’s surprise Mel pick leading the charge.
- Game 3: Despite KT’s early lead, Oner and Keria’s mid-game heroics on Dr. Mundo and Alistar reversed the momentum.
- Game 4: T1 unleashed a calculated assault with Kalista and Anivia, suffocating KT’s rhythm.
- Game 5: The decisive match saw T1 take full control with a Galio-Pantheon-Camille composition, sealing the series and the championship.
The crowd erupted as Faker raised the Summoner’s Cup once more, a scene that will forever be etched in LoL history.
T1’s Formula for Greatness: Peak When It Matters
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of T1’s dominance is their ability to peak at Worlds, regardless of domestic results. Despite not winning an LCK title in the past four years, they have reached four consecutive Worlds finals and now claimed three straight victories.
Their methodical approach, deep synergy, and unmatched mental resilience continue to set them apart. As fans chanted “Faker! Faker!” during his post-match interview, it was clear that his legacy, and T1’s dynasty, is still far from over.
With Faker signed through 2029, the reigning triple champions show no signs of slowing down. The rest of the world will have to raise their game because T1 are once again rewriting the rules of what greatness looks like in esports.
